Meet Amy!

In the spirit of providing patient-centered visits, unrushed care, and plenty of space to ask all your questions and receive honest, intentional answers, Amy offers Playtime families the opportunity to explore medication and supplement management in a completely judgment-free, safe space.  Wither her diverse background in research, neuroscience, and nursing, she provides families with real evidence-based care in an affirming, gentle way.  She believes in open collaboration to find the appropriate balance for each patient she works with. 

 

We are so excited to introduce our newest psychiatric prescriber, Amy!

Amy is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate and holistic care. Her journey into psychiatry is rooted in a deep curiosity about the human mind and its connection to overall health. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychobiology with an emphasis in Neurosciences, a Master of Public Health, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and a Master of Science in Nursing.

Before transitioning to psychiatry, Amy spent 5 years in pediatrics and 15 years in clinical research, where she explored groundbreaking treatments and therapies, followed by 5 years working in the intensive care unit (ICU), caring for patients in critical need. These experiences have given her a profound appreciation for the resilience of the human spirit and the intricate interplay between mind, body, and spirit.

In her psychiatric practice, she focuses on treating the whole person. She takes a collaborative approach to care, working alongside her patients to create personalized treatment plans that address their unique needs. Her areas of expertise include psychoneuroimmunology and holistic care, emphasizing the deep connections between mental health, the immune system, and overall well-being. You can learn more about what to expect with holistic medication management here. 

She has had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan—from newborns to older adults—addressing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and chronic stress.

Outside of her professional work, she is passionate about continuing to learn and grow in ways that enhance her ability to support her patients. When she’s not in the clinic, you can find her reading about the latest advancements in neuroscience, exploring nature, or spending time with loved ones.

Amy believes that every person has the capacity to heal and thrive, and she is honored to be part of that journey.
