Associate Clinician, Anita Inigez-Bouziane, LMSW
Meet Anita!
Adulthood throws us curveballs sometimes: children, work stress, family stress, marriage stress, recovering from childhood trauma, identity changes, and so much more. Finding someone kind, trustworthy, and knowledgeable about these topics can be hard! We are so excited to partner with Anita to be able to provide these services for adults. Anita is a Licensed Master Social Worker who has relocated from Maryland. She has joined the Playtime Therapy of Georgia practice to work with adults and couples.
Anita is a compassionate and experienced therapist specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, the Gottman Method for marriage counseling, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy. While she has experience working with children and their parents, Anita has shifted her clinical focus to young adults, parents, and couples. With a deep understanding of the complexities of the human mind and relationships, Anita is dedicated to helping individuals and couples navigate through their challenges and achieve emotional healing and growth.
EMDR & Trauma
Through the use of EMDR therapy, Anita assists clients in processing past traumas and overcoming emotional distress by facilitating bilateral stimulation, leading to the reprocessing of negative memories. EMDR is a widely recognized treatment approach for trauma and is a great tool for many people suffering from a variety of trauma presentations, such as childhood trauma, complex trauma, and acute trauma. You can learn more about EMDR from the EMDR International Association here.
Marriage/Couples Counseling & The Gottman Method
In her marriage and couples counseling work, Anita provides a safe and supportive environment for couples to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their bond. Anita also offers marriage intensives using the Gottman Method. Developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman, this approach is based on over 40 years of research and focuses on improving communication, understanding, and connection between partners. Specifically, Anita helps couples identify and address issues in their relationship, such as communication breakdowns, conflict resolution, intimacy issues, and trust issues. There’s a wealth of research supporting The Gottman Method and you can learn more about it here.
Anita offers two options for marriage/couples counseling: 1) 50 minute sessions for intakes, individual sessions, and couples sessions, and 2) 3 hour intensives for those looking for discernment counseling or who have immediate marriage enrichment needs.
Whether you are seeking to address past trauma with EMDR therapy or enhance the connection in your relationship through marriage counseling, Anita is here to guide you on a journey towards healing, self-discovery, and positive change.
Anita offers virtual appointments only. Additionally, Anita is bilingual and provides Spanish-speaking therapy.
Anita is a fellow parent and enjoys spending time with her twelve year old son and her husband. We think she is an amazing addition to the Playtime Therapy practice and we are so excited to have her here!
