Parenting isn’t easy.
“Children are our second chance to have a great parent-child relationship.”
-Laura Schlessinger
Even though you want to help your child, you might not know the best way to support them. That’s okay! It is very normal to feel confused, helpless, and even frustrated as a parent. Feeling this way doesn’t make you a bad parent. It makes you normal. What matters most is that you are taking the steps to give yourself, your child, and your family the support they need. I know it isn’t easy. Seeking additional support takes a lot of courage. I’d be honored to help you through this process and see if therapy is a good fit for you.
Parenthood is challenging. As a parent, I know that children don’t come with a manual and they often evoke strong feelings within us. If you find yourself feeling frustrated, worried, unsure, or generally concerned about your child’s behavior, you’ve come to the right place.
Part of my model of care includes guiding parents through the different stages of parenthood. From infancy through adolescence, I help parents connect with their child and engage with them in a meaningful way. I work closely with parents to identify areas of their parent-child relationship that need extra support. From there, I provide specific guidance to help them overcome any emotional and behavioral issues within the relationship.
The framework I use for parenting comes from Circle of Security International. This evidence-based parenting approach has changed the lives of thousands of families. As a Registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator, I work with parents in both individual and group settings to reflect on their current parenting strategies and create true positive change. There are two options for parent support: 1) clinical counseling and 2) reflective facilitation. Clinical counseling is therapy and opens the door for deeper individual work to be done alongside parenting support. Reflective facilitation is not therapy; it is brief parent support without the intensity of individual therapy.
